Bantanyan Island Transportation
There are several options for getting to and around Bantanyan Island.
From the Hagnaya Pier, take the ferry that will bring you to Bantayan Island. The fare is 65 to 115 pesos including the terminal fee of10 pesos. The boat ride will take approximately one hour.
From Hagnaya Port you can board a small boat that looks like a fishing vessel. This will carry you for 1 hour to Sta. Fe wharf.will take you to Santa Fe wharf. You can buy a ticket for first, second or third class passage. The first class passage really isn’t any better than second or third class.
Cebu Pacific Airline offers year-round promotional fares around the Philippines and other Asian countries. Remember to include luggage check-inn allowance when you buy your ticket because this is not included in the promo rate.
The Mid-Sea Express flies to Bantayan Island from Mactan Cebu on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Take a taxi from Mactan Airport to the North Bus Terminal The cost is about 200 pesos including a 10 peso tip to the driver.
Bus From Hagnaya Pier
A bus runs between Hagnaya Port to Cebu City, (North Cebu Bus Terminal). From Cebu, you’ll have to take a cab from the city to the bus terminal. The bus leaves Cebu every hous, the fare is 60 to 80 pesos, and the trip takes 4 to 5 hours.
TIP: You can travel early morning, around 3 am, so you can just sleep during your travel and won’t feel exhausted from the long trip.
The main mode of transport around Bantayan Island is the pedicab – a bicycle with a cart for 2 people. Some people also rent motorbikes.
