Sunny Beach Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys & Inside Tips

Sunny Beach Shopping

The Bulgarian resort town of Slanchev Bryag or “Sunny Beach” is a popular destination for international tourists and Bulgarian natives alike, thanks to its fine cuisine, historic attractions, water parks, festivals, and miles of beautiful beachfront along the Black Sea. In addition, Sunny Beach has also grown into quite the hot spot for shopping, and it’s difficult to go there without finding something (or somethings) you want to take home.

Malls and Shopping Centers

As the largest sea resort town in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach has been growing over the years. With this has come the arrival of malls and shopping centers. While this is still a developing market, there is one location worth pointing out. The biggest shopping center in the area is the Royal Beach Mall, which is part of the Barcelo Royal Beach Complex (a five-star resort of its own). In fact, this is the largest mall on the entire Black Seaside, and it is the place to go for those looking for designer clothing and name-brand western retail stores. There are some other smaller shopping centers sprinkled throughout the town.

Shopping Stands

Despite the growth of more modern and westernized shopping locales, Sunny Beach is still home to numerous traditional shopping stands and open air markets. While these small shopping stands are found throughout the resort town, you’ll really want to check out Flower Street. This is the central hub for this kind of shopping, and it is also essentially the heart of the community. You can find everything from food and concessions to souvenirs, jewlery and clothing, and while there are some more expensive spots most of it is pretty cheap. Local artists also like to showcase their work among these stands, and this provides a great opportunity for tourists to get to know the local culture and people. These shopping stands are actually so prominent that Sunny Beach itself appears to turn into one giant market area during the summer months.

Warehouses

Shopping options in Sunny Beach are generally pretty affordable, but for those looking for groceries and other necessities on the really cheap Sunny Beach warehouses are the places to go. While most of these places sell fresh produce and basic items like toiletries, a lot of cool souvenirs like traditional Bulgarian clothing and crafts can be found here. Even better, these souvenirs generally sell here as well for much less than they sell in most other souvenir shops. These are found past the main market areas, further back from the beachfront. So if you’re willing to walk a little further than usual, you have the opportunity to save some money.
