Nida Transportation

The resort town of Nida, is located on the Curonian Spit between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. If you are looking for transportation choices,  you can choose various options including private taxi, train, bus and the regional airport.

Taxi

Although public transportation is available in Nida, if you want to take a taxi, you will need to book a private taxi.

Ferry

Those travelling to Nida from the mainland in Lithuania can take the ferry from the old and new ports in Klaipeda.  Ferries from the old port are only available in the summer and are available only to pedestrians. Ferries at the new port are capable of handling automobiles. For either ferry option, patrons only pay once while going to Nida. There is no additional fee for the trip back.

Bus

The bus station is located at Nagliu 18e. Visitors can take the bus from Kaunas to Nida. Frequent micro bus services are available to Smiltyne near the northern end of the Curonian Spit where the ferries to Klaipeda leave. Destinations that can be reached directly from Nida by bus include KaliningradKaunas and Vilnius. Bus is the easiest way to get to Nida from the northern tip of Neringa, by the ferry in Smiltyne. The trip, rich with beautiful scenery, takes about an hour.

Walking

Nida is a small village that can easily be explored by walking including the sand dunes and beaches of the Baltic Sea. Although it is easy to get around by foot, be sure to bring proper footwear.

Air

The Nida airport is a small, regional airport located in the western part of Lithuania that can handle smaller aircraft.
