An Organist’s Castle

The creator of the Hammond Organ is from Gloucester. He had a castle built with parts from other castles all over the world. The castle is on the edge of the harbor and has an interesting look thanks to the different styles that are combined in its design. Perhaps Hammond’s ingenuity and creativity are what helped him create all his great musical inventions. It is one of the only castles in the United States and can be toured every day of the week.

You must make reservations to get on one of these cruises, but the must be made within the two weeks preceding the day you would like to go.

Half Moon Beach

Half Moon Beach is a relaxing area that is great for adults and children. Most people go there during the day to relax and watch the ships go in and out. The beach is free, but there is a $10 paid parking lot across the located conveniently across the street from the beach. This is an ideal place to take your family on a picnic while you are taking a summer vacation in Gloucester.
