Jasper National Park Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Jasper National Park Things to Do

Jasper National Park is an expansive park located in the province of Alberta, Canada. The park is almost 11,000 square kilometers, making it the biggest park in the Canadian Rockies. Because of its size, there are all different kinds of natural attractions like glaciers, mountains, rivers, and waterfalls.

Tangle Falls

Tangle Ridge is the home to this grouping of waterfalls. For the best views, visit them after a heavy rain has occurred the night before. You’ll find many other waterfalls throughout the park and another great option to visit is the Athabasca Falls.

Take a Snow Coach Through the Icefields Parkway

See the icefields via a snow coach tour! You can book these tours when you get to the visitor center and leave almost immediately as the tours leave every 15 minutes to a half an hour. The snow coach might be the most impressive part of the journey and it can climb just about any surface to get you across the glacier. Be sure to check the weather to make sure the conditions are appropriate for the tours to leave. They typically start around 9 am each day.

Hike the Valley of the Five Lakes

One of the most popular spots in the park for hiking is the Valley of the Five Lakes. Each lake is unique and if you leave early, you can have the trail pretty much to yourself.

Visit the Information Center

Jasper Town is the main town located inside of the park. The information center in the center of this town is housed in what the home and office of the park’s first ranger. This is a good place to visit when you first get to the park. It will help you plan out your trip well and get the most out of it while you are there.
