Unique Places in Seattle – Off the Beaten Path

Seattle Off the Beaten Path

Seattle is much more than its best-known tourist attractions. You’ll get to know the real Emerald City if you venture off the beaten path.

Chinatown

Seattle has a large, thriving Chinatown just north of the Pioneer Park area. It’s a great place for a good Chinese meal or a simple stroll through a vibrant area.

Waterfall Garden Park

This waterfall garden was erected at the site of the former United Parcel Service, and it’s quite beautiful. Located on a street corner in Pioneer Square, it is an unexpected but welcoming surprise. This is a great place to relax in the middle of the city.

Wine Tasting

Woodinville is about 25 minutes from Seattle, but the cluster of wine tasting rooms is worth the trip. Chateau Ste. Michelle is a well-known winery with free tastings. You can also pop into Columbia, Januik, and Brian Carter for affordable wine tastings. Many of these tasting rooms also offer delicious food.

Seattle Underground Tour

The Seattle Underground Tour is one of the most unusual attractions in Seattle, offering a huge network of underground passageways and basements in downtown that were actually at ground level in the early 19th century. The streets were elevated and spaces fell into disuse, but tours allow you to visit the underground to see what things looked like back in the day.

Giggle Comedy Club

Giggle always has a great line-up with tons of comedians passing through. Admission is affordable, often just $15 for one ticket.
