Few marketplaces across the world are filled with more exotic goods than the largest city in Morocco, Casablanca. Visitors who want to come home with the perfect souvenir have a lot of options on their hands — the biggest problem may be finding enough luggage space to bring it all back.

Street Markets

You can go to a big store when you visit Casablanca, but why would you want to? Take in one of the greatest shopping experiences in all the world by checking out the street markets that flow around and through the city. Remember not to take any price at face value — a seller will ratchet up the price as soon as they see a tourist. Haggle your heart out to get a better deal.

Marche Centrale

The name literally means central market and it delivers everything that it promises. While you can buy handbags and trinkets at the Marche Centrale just like you can off the side streets, it’s more well known for the excellent food than for souvenirs. You can buy delicacies like tangine alongside produce or flowers grown right outside the city walls.

Darb Ghallaf

Known as the place where locals come to shop, Darb Ghallaf features everything from electronics to books to furniture. If you’ve forgotten something for the trip, check out this market on Hassan Road about seven kilometers from the city center. In case your phone or camera breaks during your trip, furthermore, you can come here to get it repaired or replaced.
