Bulgaria Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys & Inside Tips

Bulgaria Shopping

Discover the Balkan nation of Bulgaria. It has become one of the best-known shopping hotspots in Southern Europe.

TZUM

TZUM, the Central Department Center, is a five-story building filled with over 100 shops. Many of which include stores, restaurants, and bars. You can buy clothing, jewelry, bedding, perfumes, handbags, electronics, and home goods. There are not a lot of Bulgarian consumers because the prices seem to be too high for the locals.

The Place to Buy Antiques

Across from Alexandar Cathedral Church is Alexandar Nevski Square. It is an open street market that sells antique goods and souvenirs. This market has plenty of old coins, paintings, medals, and daggers. If you are a collector or a dealer, you might find several valuables. The majority of the vendors speak multiple languages, so you probably won’t have a hard time communicating with them.

Central Market Hall

Central Market Hall is a local mall that offers an assortment of shops and restaurants. The building was designed in 1911 and its architecture is based on the Neo-Renaissance era. It was originally opened as a market for trade in the area. The upper level of the mall has fruit and vegetable vendors, bakeries, and delis. Below, there is mainly fast food, clothing stores, and gift shops.

NDK – National Palace of Culture

NDK is the largest conference center in Bulgaria where several events are held, including exhibitions, shows, conferences, and concerts. During two of the fairs, held annually, vendors set up stalls where they are able to sell jewelry, clothing, cosmetics, shoes, and other gift items. The fairs are held during the spring and winter.
