Things to Do in Indiana

Indiana Things to Do

Indiana is home to the Indiana Hoosiers and Colts, and has a bustling nightlife if you’re visiting the city of Indianapolis. Whether you’re an avid wine lover or want to explore the state’s historical statues, Indiana has plenty to offer to keep you busy.

From trying out unique flavors of wines to enjoying Nicky Blaine’s cigar bar, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself while you are in Indiana.

Downtown Indianapolis

Visiting downtown Indianapolis gives you access to a variety of entertainment depending on the time of year you visit. Take your family to The Children’s Museum, near central downtown to explore the world’s largest children’s museum. Visit “Broadripple”, an area near downtown Indianapolis that boasts more than 15 bars in a short stretch with various themes and atmospheres. Head over to Monument’s Circle to view some historical statues including Whitcomb Statue, Clark Statue, the Harrison Statue and the Morton Statue. If you’re visiting Indianapolis the Friday after Thanksgiving, the city provides The Circle of Lights, a free show for those in the city.

Rural Indiana Wineries

Another favorite pastime available throughout Indiana includes visiting wineries and breweries for tours. Wineries are widespread throughout Indiana, not only appearing in large cities. Instead, small wineries flourish in all areas of the state. Oliver’s winery in Bloomington offers tours year-round along with Buck Creek winery, just outside of the city of Indianapolis. Many wineries offer tours for a small fee, whereas others provide tours for individuals free of charge. Touring multiple wineries is one way to spend your day in Indiana while exploring various types of wine from around the state.
