Salou Things To Do
Whether you plan to spend a day or a week in Salou, you’ll find plenty of things to see and do in this town by the sea in Spain.
Walk the Promenade and Watch the Fountains
Be it day or night, a lovely thing to do while in Salou is to take a stroll along the promenade and admire the beach views. It is a flat walk with plenty of seats along the way. The walkway is lined with mature palm trees and fountains that run most of the day and into the evening. On the weekends, there is a laser show of the fountains as they dance to the music.
Enjoy the Stunning Beaches
Salou has some of the finest beaches around (with fantastic views of the mountains). Being such a lovely sandy beach, it does get very crowded at peak times. Note that there are showers provided as you leave the beach.
Don’t Miss the Thrills at Port Aventura
Even if you aren’t a thrill-seeking type of traveler, no trip to Salou would be complete without spending a day at the Port Aventura theme park. Just a short bus ride away from the main town, Port Aventura is divided into five different global themes, so you can visit Imperial China and Aztec Mexico all in the same day. It also boasts one of the biggest roller coasters in Europe. There is plenty of entertainment, with shows to see all day and night.
Other great places to spend some time include Cambrils Fishing Port (just 15 minutes away and accessible by public transport) with its marina, great seafood restaurants, and lovely sandy beaches. Salou is also about an hour from Barcelona by train.
