Nadi Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys & Inside Tips

Nadi Shopping

Shopping in Nadi reflects the island life of Fiji – laid back, and filled with unique treasures. From open-air markets to local shops, Nadi has something for every shopper.

What to Buy In Nadi

Shops in Nadi have everything you need. Jewelry, cameras, clothes, handicrafts, artifacts, souvenir items, and original artworks are among the many items on offer.

Where to Shop In Nadi

In Nadi, you’ll find handicrafts shops, drapery shops, supermarkets, a shopping mall, and pharmacies. Shopping facilities are also available in major hotels within the area, usually on a 24-hour basis.

During the day there is often an open-air market in Nadi town. There, you can find pretty much anything you would find in the little semi-authentic tourist shops throughout Nadi – such as artwork, crafts, and clothing – for much lower prices.

Jack’s Handicrafts is Fiji’s biggest souvenir shop. They sell all traditional merchandise, most of which is handmade. It’s just 15 minutes from Nadi Airport by taxi – just watch out for those taxi fares!

Things to Know About Nadi Shopping

There are many shops with great wooden souvenirs of all kinds and sizes, but be aware that you might get into problems at customs control if you are headed to Australia. Wooden items of all sorts are forbidden to be taken into Australia, and while some shops insist that their goods have a certificate, it is best to confirm for yourself.

Some things are unbelievably overpriced wherever you go, so be prepared to haggle, particularly in the open air market. Also, you may be shouted at by vendors to see their items, and shop merchants may stand outside their front doors trying to persuade you to come inside as well. Nadi is also one of few places where shops are open on Sundays.
