Most visitors can get the full experience in just a few hours, making it the perfect detour for a cross-country drive. The viewing area is open during the day and is illuminated at night so viewers can see the mountain after dark. There is no cost for admission, but there is a $10 parking fee at the nearby garage. Especially patriotic tourists should visit around 8 p.m. each night during the summer, so they can experience the beautiful lighting ceremony that occurs every night at this time.
