People’s Park

A project begun under the direction of former Philippine president Marcos, People’s Park was never completed after his downfall. It sits at the highest point in the city and provides a wonderful view of the surrounding hills and of Lake Taal. You will also find fruit stand vendors and some souvenir shops there. It is truly a must-see location for your trip, so you don’t want to miss it.

Picnic Grove

Picnic Grove has many activities for the whole family to enjoy, including zip lines, horseback riding, and kite flying. There are different size cottages to rent, and they tend to fill up with locals on the weekends. For best availability, you might want to go on a weekday. Be sure to check out the view from the hanging bridge.

Taal Volcano

Visiting Taal Volcano and Crater Lake make for a great day trip from Tagaytay. At the edge of Crater Lake, you will find vendors who will take you to the island where Crater Lake is located. It’s about a 30-minute boat ride. Once on the island, there’s a horse ride to the top of the crater. Be aware that you will need to negotiate the price of the boat ride and the price of the horse ride separately. At the top of the crater, there are vendors who sell drinks and t-shirts if you want to take a souvenir home with you.

Sky Ranch

Sky Ranch, home to a 207-foot-tall Ferris wheel, is a great place for the young and young at heart. You do have to pay to enter, but once inside you can wander around as long at you like. The Ferris wheel is the tallest in the country and affords great views of the Taal Volcano. There are additional rides in the park, along with horseback riding trails and zip-lining.
