Sozopol Nightlife – Clubs, Bars & Nightlife Tips

Sozopol Nightlife

Sozopol is a lovely city located on the southern Bulgarian coast, and there’s many beautiful sights to see during the day. However, the real fun begins as the sun goes down and the Sozopol nightlife scene develops.

Don’t Worry About Dress Codes

The clubs and discotheques don’t enforce strict dress codes, so it’s best to dress based on your plans for the night. If you’re planning to dance the night away, you may want to leave your sports coat in the room and just go with a dress shirt, so you can stay comfortable all night.

Music Volume Varies Based on the Time

In Sozopol, most venues won’t play very loud music until around midnight, so don’t be surprised if it seems like the places you’re walking past don’t seem very active. Once the clock strikes midnight, get ready for the DJ to crank the volume up and watch as people begin to gravitate toward the dance floor.

Where Are the Hot Spots?

Most of the popular bars and clubs are located along Harmani Beach. If you don’t have a particular venue in mind that you want to go to, take a stroll alongside the beach until something catches your eye. Some of the more well-known venues include:

  • Bar Mojito. This bar and cocktail lounge is a great place to grab a drink inside and relax on the comfy seating, go crazy on the dance floor, or head outside to the swimming pool and unwind at the patio seating.
  • Havana Club. Popular for all-night dancing and an energetic party atmosphere. It’s not unusual to see people dancing on the tables, bar counter, and sofas. If you prefer a laidback vibe, or are looking to relax after hours of dancing, head to the pool or beach bar for a more relaxed ambiance.

Cocktails Can Be Pricey and Sometimes Watered Down

This generally applies to nightclubs and not the beach bars. At some venues, you could find yourself paying more than 10 Euros for one cocktail, and some bartenders are known to water down drinks. Some people suggest ordering pure liquor, then asking for juice or other mixers to solve this problem. This isn’t an issue at every bar and club, but it’s something that you may want to keep in mind. If the first drink you order seems weaker than expected, maybe switch up your next order to a bottled beer or straight liquor with a separately ordered chaser.
