Havana Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Havana Things to Do

With travel restrictions to Cuba recently reduced, you may now have the opportunity to visit its capital. With a beautiful and unique culture, here are some of the top things to do while visiting.

Cigar Factories

Whether you’re a fan of cigars or have been looking forward to trying authentic “Cuban” cigars, visiting a cigar factory is a must. When visiting the factory, you can see how each cigar is crafted, from the beginning of the process to the end. Many offer English-speaking tour guides who will provide the history of the brand and go in to detail about the cigar-making process.

Artisan’s Market

This beautiful market located in Old Havana offers a range of small shops, including everything from baked goods, delicious beverages, and traditional Cuban crafts. One of the benefits of having travel restrictions from the United States to Cuba for so long is the island nation has not been heavily influenced by tourists, which has helped maintain many of the older traditions.

Cristobal Colon Cemetery

If you have visited other cemeteries in Latin America, you know already the sheer beauty of these. Filled with mausoleums house generations from a single family, this cemetery such as this can take on the appearance of a small city. It can be a somber activity to walk through such a location, but a beautiful one.

Plaza de la Revolucion

Several buildings feature metal outlines of famous Cubans who took part in making Cuba an independent nation. These metal outlines are placed in front of large cement buildings. They almost look as if someone had taken a giant pen and drawn the outlines onto the facades. By walking through the Plaza, you’ll come across many different monuments dedicated to these individuals of historical significance.
