Anchorage Nightlife – Clubs, Bars & Nightlife Tips

Anchorage Nightlife

Clubs, pubs, and live music! Whether it’s during Anchorage’s never ending winter night or their never-ending summer day – the city has great entertainment options.

Chilkoot Charlies

Koots has been around for around 30 years. It used to be a small rustic place that had a band in on the weekends and has grown steadily to the huge night spot it is today. It is a maze of live music. If you don’t like the band playing in one room, then go to the next until you find the music you like. Lots of bouncers and security, so it stays safe despite the crowd. Make sure you bring an I.D.

Address: 2435 Spenard Road, Anchorage Alaska
Directions: On the corner of Spenard and Fireweed. Park lot is the whole block south of Koots on Spenard – just look for the windmill.

Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse

This place has over 40 beers on draft, locally brewed beers on tap, a fine selection of Belgian Ales, Cask conditioned Ales, and Specialty Beers. Enormous on the inside, they have a great menu. They offer live music most nights with a local solo artist weeknights and larger groups on weekends.

The Snow Goose Restaurant and Brewery

The Snow Goose Restaurant is a place with a great view, they have an open deck looking out over Sleeping Lady and Cook Inlet. They also have decent food, their own brewery, live music and they are cigar friendly on their deck. On Friday nights, they have Firkin Friday where they combine a newly brewed beer with a live musical act. And there’s also Acoustic Saturdays, where you can listen to local artists with no cover charge. Open Mic night on Thursdays brings out a lot of local talent. And they often have concerts from nationally known bluegrass, country, and folk artists.
