Monkeys are everywhere, and usually they are friendly. The ones that are fed by humans tend to be more aggressive when they want more food. Some of them will follow you around if you are carrying food in the open. It is safer to avoid carrying open containers of food, and beware of all the monkeys in your surroundings. Not only will they snatch food out of your hands, they will take your purse, bags, cameras or anything they see. These monkeys are very mischievous, and if a monkey bites you, make sure to visit a doctor, as the saliva itself carries diseases.

Wanted attention is easy to get, when you wear low cut blouses, shorts and tank tops, so pants or longer skirts and dresses work best. The weather is very different from the U.S. and may bother you if you have allergies, so bring plenty of tissue. Mosquitos are also prominent; the local store carries insect repellant, but do not forget the caladryl lotion, it works great and you will need it for the swelling.
Take your own feminine products as well, as the stores here will only carry pads.
Do not try to be adventurous; avoid driving alone. The best chance of getting from point A to point B is to hire a chauffeur, a host, ask a friend, or obtain the services of a tour guide.
