Sharm El Sheikh Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Sharm El Sheikh Things To Do

There is always something to do when visiting Egypt. This holds true for Sharm El Sheikh. Here are a few of the must see attractions and activities to take in while in town.

Naama Bay

It is possible to spend your entire vacation in Sharm El Sheikh visiting Naama Bay. The public beach is excellent as you can rent out your own cabana and covered seating. Just being in the shade with the sun out can drop the temperature  significantly. There are boat rentals, ranging from jet skis to paddle boats. If you’d rather stay inside and enjoy the air conditioning you can visit the MAS Bowling Center. Inside there is an arcade in addition to bowling.

St. Catherine’s Monastery

You probably don’t think of Christian places of worship when it comes to Egyptian structures, but that is exactly what St. Catherine’s is. The huge construction is about two hours away from Sharm El Sheikh but well worth the drive (there are plenty of bus tours to the monastery as well). The specter of the grounds is impressive, yet the building style itself blends in with the rest of Egyptian construction at the time.

Old Town Charm

The Old Town Market is identified by large pillars at the entrance of this area of town. Inside, you’ll find a wide array of stalls and vendors. Many sell spices and produce for locals. However, you can also find clothing and hats. The hats are perfect for any outdoor activities you might have later. The night market comes alive and you’ll find more food vendors set up shop. An interesting note though is that “Old Town” is not really the oldest part of the city. In fact, it is only about 40 years old. It’s named this way in order to easily identify it for tourists interested coming to the city.

Ras Mohammed National Park

The national park is perfect for snorkeling and views here are incredible. You’ll see the majestic blue waters coming to a point with the golden brown rocky terrain of Egypt. It’s a unique sight and one you shouldn’t miss.
