Best Western Offers One Free Night After Three Stays

If the hotel industry is in high gear, promotion-wise, Best Western is in overdrive.

We’ve already reviewed its AAdvantage bonus-mile promotion (“a solid offer for Best Western customers who collect American miles”).

Here are details of its second offer, in place for the same time period, offering a free night instead of airline miles.

Offer Details

Between February 6 and April 11, Best Western Rewards members in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean can earn one free night after three stays.

Only one free night may be earned with this offer, and it must be taken by June 30 at a Best Western property in the U.S., Canada, or the Caribbean.

There’s also a 1,000-point bonus if all three promotion-qualifying stays are charged to a Best Western Rewards MasterCard.

Registration is required.

Deal or No Deal

There are two potential negatives here.

The first is the qualification hurdle: three stays.

By contrast, Marriott’s current MegaBonus promotion also features a free night, but after just two stays. And that offer allows two free nights to be earned, not just one.

The second caveat concerns the usage requirements for the free night. Giving program members only 2.5 months to redeem the freebie undermines the value of the reward, and of the promotion itself.

Of course, if you travel often enough to rack up three stays in two months, taking advantage of that free night might not be a problem.

Bottom line: There are plenty of current hotel promotions from which to choose, including Best Western’s other offer. Look before you leap.
