Editor’s note: Click here to take our short Airline Safety poll.
Since the attempted bombing on Christmas Day, there have been numerous changes to our national security policy. We’ve implemented additional screening to citizens from or traveling through 14 nations, ordered the integration of hundreds of body scanners, and increased the use of random pat-downs.
But along with all the security talk, we’ve also seen a rise in what we’ll call “erratic behavior.” For example, last week a plane flying from Oregon to Hawaii turned around after a passenger caused a disturbance. In another incident, a passenger was removed from a plane before takeoff when he started threatening Jews. And let’s not forget about the Newark fiasco, which now appears to have been the result of innocent but ill-considered romance.
So what the heck is going on? Has everyone gone crazy?
Kidding aside, we would like to know how you are feeling about air travel these days. Do you think it’s safe? Do you think the new security measures will be effective? Please take our quick, three-question poll, and we’ll post the results in a few days.

And if you have anything to add beyond our questions, you can share your thoughts within the poll. Thanks for participating, and we look forward to reporting the results!
