SideStep adds activity search

You’ve got your plane ticket and hotel reservations set. But what are you actually going to do on your vacation? To help you figure that out, SideStep, like Travelocity before it, has added an activity search to its online offerings. Users will be able to search nine categories, from cultural to adventure to transportation.

According to Travel Weekly (registration required), the travel comparison website SideStep rolled out the new feature today. However, the activity search is still in beta test mode, so you may experience some problems as the technical kinks are worked out. At this point, the feature is on the website, though not on SideStep’s downloadable toolbar, which you can use to search airfares, hotel rates, and more.

After testing out the activity search this morning, I have to say it seems pretty good. I looked for things to do in London this summer and got three pages of possibilities. I didn’t compare all of the prices to those on the activity providers’ websites, but if you see something on SideStep you’re interested in doing, looking at both would be a wise move to make sure you get the best price.
