New website for cheap airport transportation in the U.S.

I’m always on the lookout for new websites that can make traveling just a little easier. A few weeks ago I told you about the airplane seat comfort scorecard. Today, let’s have a look at the Airport Ground Directory.

Arriving in a new city can be disorienting, particularly if you’ve had a bad flight or experienced some other inconvenience on the way. It can also cost you a small fortune if you don’t know all the options for getting from the airport to downtown. Enter the Airport Ground Directory, which lists the public transportation options (and costs) from 75 different airports in the U.S. In Boston, for example, you can spend $30 to $40 on a cab, or just over a dollar on the subway.

It has the potential to be a very useful resource. The site design is very basic, which works fine for the content featured there. I’d love to see it expand beyond the U.S., though, and delve into options for Europe. Right now there’s just a little mention of the Continent with no specifics, which isn’t terribly helpful.

All in all, though, an interesting concept and one worth checking the next time you plan to travel.
