ExpressJet announces 24 new cities, frequent flyer program

Low-fare carrier ExpressJet begins its first flights today, and has announced 24 new cities and details about its frequent flyer program. ExpressJet will serve West Coast, Southeastern, and Midwest cities with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft. Like AirTran, the airline offers free XM Satellite Radio, as well as free snacks, “memory foam” leather seats, and valet carry-on baggage service.

Today, ExpressJet begins service to Austin; Boise; Kansas City, MO; Omaha; Ontario, CA; San Antonio; Spokane; and Tucson. Later this month and in early May, the airline will add service to Albuquerque, Bakersfield, Birmingham, Colorado Springs, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Fresno, Jacksonville, Louisville, Monterey, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Raleigh/Durham, Sacramento, San Diego, and Tulsa.

JetSet, ExpressJet’s frequent flyer program also goes into effect today. Flyers can earn a free round-trip ticket for every eight round-trips flown. ExpressJet is offering an introductory promotion in which customers can earn a free ticket for four round-trip flights purchased by September 30.
