Last week I covered summer predictions from Cheaptickets.com and Orbitz, and today I’ll continue the survey by bringing you Expedia’s summer Travel Trendwatch.
Not simply a destination list, the Trendwatch digs in and covers travel trends as they impact two things most travelers (myself included) worry about in terms of summer travel: price and crowds.
The report is basically a five-page instant-expert cheat sheet. For summer travel, it’s good to know what you’re up against, and that is high gas prices and less-than-stellar dollar-to-euro exchange rates. But it’s also packed with information that can help you make better choices. For instance, because of recent capacity increases, flights to popular destinations like New York and Hawaii are actually priced below average.
I enjoyed reading the Trendwatch because it was full of the sort of information that makes me not just a better travel reporter, but a savvier traveler as well. And that second part is why I’m passing it along to you.
