New Mexico: Get Quirky in Albuquerque From $89/Night

With a zeal for green chilies, hot air balloons, and the Southwest, Albuquerque is far from ordinary. Come experience the history of Route 66, the Mother Road, ride the world's longest aerial tram, or taste the spiciness of local dishes.

I've tracked down several properties that offer a good value for your weekend getaway, each with reasonable prices and/or a little something extra to make your stay memorable.

  • The Heritage House Bed and Breakfast captures the essence of the early 19th century with tapestries, period antiques, and stained glass windows throughout the property. Rooms start at $89 per night and feature wireless Internet, robes, afternoon homemade snacks, and a gourmet breakfast.
  • Located on Route 66, the Bottger Mansion of Old Town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is the only accommodations in the Old Town Historic District. Rooms start at $99 per night and include a gourmet breakfast, free parking, in-room robes, complimentary snacks and beverages, and wireless Internet.
  • The Mauger Bed and Breakfast offers five queen rooms, two king rooms, a suite, and two townhouses starting at $99 per night. The Queen Anne-style property features a full breakfast buffet in the mornings, complimentary treats and beverages in the evenings, wireless Internet, fresh flowers in guestrooms, and snack baskets.

If you're traveling from out of town and need to book a flight, you can find the lowest prices for your route by comparing airfares from multiple travel providers with our price-comparison tool.
