About Amarillo

Located in the Texas Panhandle, the city of Amarillo is proud of its wide open spaces—so wide that some claim to see the curvature of the earth when sunsets fill the Amarillo sky. Nearby Palo Duro Canyon State Park offers stunning vistas as well as camping, horse trails, and mountain biking. Visitors will want to catch the Amarillo Dillas, Gorillas, or Dusters (the local baseball, hockey, and arena football teams) in action. And thrill-seekers can get their engines started at the Amarillo Dragway or the Route 66 Motor Speedway, a high-bank clay oval raceway.

Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport is located about seven miles east of downtown, making it a convenient location for flights to Amarillo.
