Wichita, Kansas, has changed a lot since its days as "Cowtown," but visitors can still experience the heyday of the Texas cattle drives at Old Cowtown Museum, or shop at the largest western-wear store in the world, Sheplers. Shoppers can also find a bargain at the Coleman Factory Outlet and Museum. Guests can find more modern fun in the historic Old Town Red-Brick District, the center of Wichita's nightlife. Visitors won't want to miss the Great Plains Nature Center, which allows tourists to explore the local wetlands, prairie, and riparian habitats. And baseball fans will find plenty to cheer about at Wichita State University, a College World Series champion.
Wichita Mid-Continent Airport is the home base for commercial flights to Wichita.
