About Springfield

Springfield, Illinois, is the state capital and hometown of Abraham Lincoln. Tourists can walk in the former president's footsteps by visiting the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln-Herndon Law Office, and Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Perhaps the most unexpected tribute is the 50-foot-tall Proud Raven totem pole, which is topped with an eight-foot-tall statue of Honest Abe. But Springfield's history doesn't stop with Lincoln. Located along famous Route 66, visitors in search of classic Americana will find it at Shea's Gas Station Museum and the Cozy Dog Drive In diner, which still serves its famous hot dog on a stick.

Flights to Springfield arrive at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport.
