Savannah is a preferred vacation destination almost anytime of the year. The most popular time to visit is March through May, when temperatures are mild, flowers are in bloom, and events are happening everywhere.
Visitors will find fewer crowds and lower prices during the summer and winter months, but temperatures aren't as ideal. Early fall can be a favorable time to go, with a good balance of pleasant weather and fewer visitors.

Savannah has a semi-tropical climate and experiences warm weather throughout most of the year. Summer highs range between the upper 80s and 90s with high humidity. Winter temperatures can be considerably cooler with highs in the low 60s and lows in the high 30s and 40s. The weather is pleasant and mild in the spring and fall, when highs range from the low 70s to mid-80s.
March is a particularly busy time for Savannah when the population of the city doubles for the St. Patrick's Day festivities. The Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens and the Savannah Music Festival are also quite popular during this time. In October and November, the Savannah Film Festival is a fun event and attracts many cinephiles.
Hotels, shops, and attractions remain open throughout the year.
When to Save
The city is fairly affordable anytime of year, but prices rise during the high seasons and St. Patrick's Day events. Summer and winter are the least expensive times to visit.
