Grenada sees warm temperatures year-round. However, the most popular time to visit is late December through mid-April, as it's wintertime in the U.S. and London, home to most of the island's visitors. The season between late April and mid-October is moderately busy with a steady stream of tourists taking their summer vacations or honeymoons, or coming to see summer festivals. The low season during mid-October through mid-December is the least busy time due the wet weather, but is also the cheapest.
- high season: late December to mid-April
- low season: mid-October to mid-December
- shoulder season: late April to early October
Grenada typically enjoys sunny 80- to 85-degree weather year-round. However, June through November is the rainy season, as well as the hurricane season.
Grenada is not overly touristy, so there are rarely large crowds. However, there tends to be relatively more people around during the high season, and Carnival in August is a major draw for visitors.
Hotels, shops, and other venues remain open year-round.
When to Save
In general, the most cost-effective time to go is during the low season. Room rates are less expensive during this time, nearly half of what they are during the high season.
When to Book
It is best to book about four to six months in advance for travel during the high season, especially airfare, as prices increase dramatically as it gets closer to the travel dates. For low season, airfare should still be booked months in advance, but hotels can be booked a lot closer to the actual travel dates, as rates are lower and there's more availability.
