Visit Curacao in summer, and you can pretty much spare yourself worry about hurricanes; the island is the "C" in the ABC Islands, which lie outside the Caribbean's hurricane belt, making them ideal locations for tropical vacations during summer.
This year is an especially great time to visit and take advantage of the island's Curacao Now promotion, which includes discounts on every aspect of your vacation. You can save $200 per person on airfare and nab a free night at one of 18 hotels when you book by July 15 and travel through July 1 or from August 15 to December 15. The offer also includes a $140 food and beverage credit; a free day's rental car; a free shore dive day; discounted museum admission; half-price tours, transfers, and attractions; and shopping discounts.
In addition, Breezes is offering special deals for family travel to its all-inclusive Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino. Kids ages two to 13 stay, play, and eat free through December 22; plus, the single supplement will be waived for single parents traveling with their children. The savings works out to $100 for a family of four.
When I compared off-peak hotel rates to peak rates, I was able to find savings of up to $73 per night. You'll likely find similar savings in your own comparisons.

Special deals aside, this is still a great year to visit Curacao, as the island hosts lots of fun summer events. Curacao's culture is celebrated with special events and activities on July 2, which is Curacao Flag Day, and again on Curacao Day on July 26.
Salsa dancing is highlighted in August with the weeklong Curacao Salsa Tour, from August 3 through 10, featuring a salsa competition, beach parties, and more. And, during the Curacao Culture, Cruise, and Heritage Experience, from August 15 through November 15, museums offer discounted or even free admission, and visitors can sample local dishes and watch live performances illustrating the island's heritage.
