It's no secret that early and mid-fall travel deliver a great combination of nice weather and good prices in Europe. This fall, Prague goes even further by offering two major music festivals—the Prague International Jazz Festival and Prague Autumn International Music Festival—and exceptionally affordable rates.

Air-and-vacation packages stand out as a way to reap good value from every vacation dollar.'s Prague at its Best package, with airfare from New York and six nights' accommodations, is $719 per person during September and October. The price drops to $599 for visits in November and early December. EuropeASAP has a similar package for $779 per person.

The first batch of fall Europe airfare sales from big carriers such as Delta and United have just expired, but more will likely be announced in the coming weeks. 1-800-Fly-Europe is currently advertising round-trip fares between New York and Prague for $467. This fall should be a good time for sale fares to Prague and other destinations around Europe, as airlines struggle to maintain the interest of cash-strapped travelers.
