Provider: Milagro Retreats
Milagro Retreats wellness vacations for women were designed not only to please organic food aficionados and yoga devotees, but also anyone looking for rejuvenation. The company was started in 2002 by Shani Cranston, a holistic chef, organic farmer and massage therapist, who offers cooking classes focusing on local living foods. Cranston also incorporates her other passions—yoga, meditation, and surfing—into the retreats she hosts in Tofino, British Columbia; Baja, Mexico; and Costa Rica. "Our vision is inspiring personal growth and unity with nature," says Cranston.
On the retreat, you'll stay in a shared villa or private room, attending twice-daily yoga and meditation sessions, and indulging in three-square organic feasts. Women are invited to watch and learn from Cranston as she prepares the meals. During free time, you can sign up for optional surfing lessons and massages, or explore the town and beaches of Todos Santos.
"I highly recommend this experience for women who are seeking transformation or changes in their lives," says Lana Wells, Senior Director of the United Way of Calgary, who has attended several Milagro Retreats. "The first Milagro Retreat I attended was to expand my yoga practice and to be in an environment that was nurturing and supportive. It was such an amazing experience that I wanted to treat myself annually to this experience."
Rates include accommodations, all meals, yoga, cooking sessions, and transfers from San Jose, where the trip begins. You can opt for camping accommodations for $200 less, or pay $200 extra for a private room. Round-trip November flights from Los Angeles to San Jose Cabo airport start at $199 plus taxes on Delta.
