So many beaches, so little time. Last month we asked readers to send in descriptions of their favorite beaches. You responded with hidden gems in Hawaii, aqua blue waters in Florida, and even pink sand beaches in Bermuda.

The Caribbean

The mere thought of the Caribbean—with its azure waters, endless beaches, and gentle breezes—is enough to warm up even the coldest winter day. Readers from all over sent in their Caribbean picks.

Bruce W. casts his vote, saying, "I believe that Orient Beach, St. Martin, has to be the absolute best. The sand was a very fine grain yellow and the water ... the water was the absolute best. It was just slightly cooler than a bathtub and crystal clear. You could easily see the bottom even 15 feet down."

Bermuda has plenty of fans, as well. One reader writes that, "after traveling to many destinations throughout the world, I have to say that my favorite beach by far, is Horseshoe Bay in Bermuda! Bermuda is known for its pink sand beaches which are soft like talcum powder, and the color of the water is absolutely stunning!"

Bermuda yielded another favorite as well: "My favorite beach is Stonehole Bay in Bermuda. It is so pristine and secluded. It is a perfect spot for honeymooners and couples to relax."

Travelgirl recommends a beach you'll have to be a cruise passenger to see: "I loved Half Moon Cay, Holland America's private island beach. So far that is my favorite, having been to over 17 islands in the Caribbean."

Hollywood Beach, Florida between Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach. Great place. No condo's right on the beach. It is accessible to all. They have a broad walk (tiles and asphalt) that goes for miles. Some of it has stores, outdoor restaurants, fountains, a playground and they have a bike and rollerblade path. The water is clear and you can always find a place to sunbath. People are friendly but let you alone. They have concerts at the beach open theater. They have trolley and bus service to town and connecting to Miami and Fort Lauderdale. If it rains today, tomorrow will be better. Weather rarely gets very cool. Water is 74-84 degrees year round. Just a good place to go. (They do charge to park and only one area allows RV parking, but no charge to use the beach and facilities. Warning, medium to large RV's, don't attempt to use Hollywood Blvd. Bridge, too sharp curves. Other bridges okay).

West Railay Beach in Thailand, near Krabi, is three beaches in one and is the most beautiful, dramatic and exotic scene in the world and is only reachable by long boat.

Indian Wells Beach, Amagansett, Long Island, is among the best beaches in the world. All along the Atlantic shore in the East Hampton, NY, area are beaches with good sand, great water and salt air that make a day at the beach a perect day.
