Norway: Lofoten Islands

Lofoten Islands, Norway

Located above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway, you'll find the Lofoten Archipelago, which consists of several main islands, each offering scenic fishing villages, rugged outdoor activities, and insight into a human's will to survive. During the summer, the islands experience sunlight 24 hours per day, or midnight sun, and the opposite in the winter with polar nights. The natural surroundings are an ideal background for hiking, biking, wave surfing, wildlife viewing, and winter sports, as well as learning about Viking history.
