Austria: Tirol

Tirol, Austria

Situated in the heart of the Alps, and surrounded by Switzerland, Italy, and Germany, Tirol may be a bit under the radar, but it is well worth the trek. Winter sports enthusiasts rejoice in the plethora of snow-themed activities, including more than 155 miles of ski runs at the largest connected ski area in Austria, bobsled training at the 1976 Olympics run, a museum dedicated to alpine skiing, and the highest winter resort in the country.
