Do I have to sign in to comment?
Yes, you now have to sign in to comment—and to "sign in" you'll have to create a display name and password if you haven't already. Once you've created them, you can post your comment, plus see all your comments on different stories in one place, manage your newsletter subscriptions and create a personal profile.
How long does it take to create a display name and password?
The process is quick. We don't ask for much information, so you can complete the initial steps in less than a minute. Then we'll send you an email to verify your email address, you'll click on the link in the message we send, and you'll be ready to comment!
Where can I create my display name and password?
You can do it when you submit a comment on any story, or by clicking on Join Now at the top right of any page.
Do I have to sign in every time?
No. You'll need to have your cookies enabled to log in, but once you've created your display name and password, your browser should be able to remember your details, so you won't have to sign in each time you want to comment. And if you ever do forget your password, you can always reset it.
