Tim worked in the travel industry for more than 20 years, both on the airline side and in the hotel industry.
He has developed new frequent flyer programs, managed existing programs, and developed and implemented promotions leveraging both in-house and partner programs to gain and retain customer loyalty (as they say in the biz). In addition to the marketing aspects of the programs, he has had management responsibility for program operations, customer service and IT.
Tim left the corporate world to devote his time to writing and publishing.
In 1997, Tim launched FrequentFlier.com, a website devoted to helping travelers choose, use and understand frequent flyer programs. And in 1998, he began publishing a weekly e-mail newsletter, The FrequentFlier Crier.
In November 2005, Tim co-authored Mileage Pro - The Insider's Guide to Frequent Flyer with Randy Petersen. The book has received rave reviews from some of the country's top travel writers.
Through his publishing activities, he has become a nationally recognized authority on frequent flyer programs. He is regularly quoted in the mainstream media, including the New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, Kiplinger's, Money, CNN, MSNBC, Wall Street Journal, etc.
Tim earned an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he holds a B.F.A. in design from California Institute of the Arts, and completed several years of graduate work in philosophy and symbolic logic at California State University, Los Angeles.
