Contributing Editor RaeJean Stokes joined SmarterTravel.com as an editorial assistant in 2002, and rejoined the team in early 2006 after a two-year hiatus in which she served as teacher of English as a foreign language in the Peace Corps.

RaeJean has traveled to 23 countries in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, including Poland, Croatia, Mexico, France, Italy, and Turkey. She has lived in two of them (England and Ukraine) for extended periods of time. While she has had many memorable moments "on the road," her hands-down favorite was a impromptu dance party at a rural Turkish bus station.

Besides being fluent in Ukrainian, RaeJean is constantly planning her next great travel experience. She lives in Denver, Colorado.
