Our readers' choice for best customer service—Southwest—also recorded the lowest percentage of passenger complaints in the first half of 2008, according to stats collected by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Those same reports showed our second-place finisher Continental as having the second lowest percentage of complaints among the legacy carriers (Northwest had a lower percentage of complaints overall) and JetBlue as having the fifth lowest percentage of complaints of any U.S. airline after Southwest, ExpressJet, Alaska, and SkyWest.
