Bonus: Statue Of Liberty National Monument, New York
Not technically a national park (it's classified as a national monument), the Statue of Liberty has proudly watched over our shores for more than 125 years. Last year's Hurricane Sandy forced her temporary closure, but Liberty Island reopens this Independence Day—and we think the chance to ascend to her crown once again is worthy of this list.
Ferry tickets to Liberty Island cost $17, and access to Lady Liberty's crown is an extra $3 and requires advanced reservations through ferry provider Statue Cruises.
(Editor's Note: Ellis Island remains closed until further notice.)
