Two Nights Free at Florida, Caribbean, Mexico Resorts

Wyndam is offering a pretty impressive deal for stays at some of its top Florida, Caribbean, and Mexico resorts. The short version: You get four nights for the price of two (a 50 percent savings off the regular rate) as well as a $100 food and beverage credit at select properties. I tested it out and found some very good prices on oceanview rooms with king-size beds.

First, the details. Participating resorts include:

• Wyndham Orlando Resort (Orlando, Florida)
• Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico)
• Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino (Nassau, Bahamas)
• Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands)
• Wyndham Grand Bay Hotel Isla Navidad (Manzanillo, Mexico)

How to get this deal: See a full list of participating properties on Wyndam's special offers page and use promo code "pkgcarib1" in the site's "Promo Rate Plan" field to search for dates that the rate is available. Although it doesn't say this on Wyndam's special offers page, I discovered that the discount is applied at time of checkout from your stay, not immediately upon booking.

The fine print: Stays must be booked by December 20, 2011, and completed by December 20, 2011. I had trouble finding availability at this rate during peak travel times, but better luck between late spring and early fall. Rates are based upon availability, and blackout dates may apply.

Will it really save you money? Absolutely! As I'll show in the chart below, I was able to find savings of $182 to $454 on a four-night stay at the Wyndham Grand Bay Hotel Isla Navidad in Manzanillo, Mexico. Not only that, but the total package price using the promo code actually makes it cheaper to book a $229 oceanview room than a $135 mountainview room. Sweet deal.
