  • Overall the stay at this La Quinta was pleasant. The room was clean, the furniture was in good condition, the staff was helpful and pleasant, and the location was convenient to the sites we intended to visit. It was difficult to get into and out of the property because it is on a very busy corner, but that is no fault of La Quinta. We will consider staying at this property again the next time we are in the Austin area. That said, the property is obviously an old one. Paint was flaking and the railing in the stair way was rusted through at the bottom in several places, and overall the exterior and common areas looked tired and worn. The property needs an exterior renovation. My only complaints about the property were that (1) we had difficulty getting a much desired internet connection in our room so we could research local restaurants, and (2) the breakfast buffet was disgusting. I am not a finicky eater, but I thought that the foods provided were not at all tasty. La Quinta REALLY needs to evaluate the offered foods and chose new suppliers. If there is one thing that that will drive us away from La Quinta and to another hotel chain the next time we travel, it will be the lousy breakfast buffet offered by La Quinta. I don't expect 4-Star food quality, but there is definitely room for improvement. In particular I thought the packaged bagels and danish were really gross, but all of it needs work.
