This was the most fantasic place I have ever stayed. Perfect in every way. I would recommend it to anyone. Close to Broadway and Times Square.
It was fine - a little dated but clean and convenient to where I was working. Room services was expensive and the service fee ($4 plus 18% gratuity) was outrageous.
location was very convenient. The room was very small and the common areas were clean, but appeared to be old. The hotel staff was displeased that I had booked the room through another online service and blamed it on that when they couldn't find my room. It turned out that the other guest I was staying with had already checked in. I think they could have handled it without making comments about the third party booking system they have a contract with and agree to use.
I can not say enough good things about this hotel. The service, location and comfort were perfect. Great location for going to Broadway plays or Top of the Rock.
Room-service was closed despite being a 24-hour service.
The Roosevelt Hotel is the perfect location, only 1 block from Grand Central Terminal, 3 blocks from Times Square, Rockefeller Center. The hotel was clean, pleasant, beautiful old world styling. We were a family with 2 teenagers, and this hotel was perfect for us. I'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
The wait staff in the lobby bar was slow and treated individual guests who didn't make big orders as irrelevant. The furniture in the lobby was soiled. Yuck. The rooms set a new standard for average--and not a good one. Meeting rooms are spread out and on different levels. Can be hard to find your session before it's over. If you must go there, the chocolate martini in the lobby bar is the place's only saving grace.
