Top Five Miles and Points Deals for July 2008

There are many, many promotions. But there are only a few really, really good ones.

In this monthly roundup, we highlight the five most lucrative offers currently available to members of airline and hotel loyalty programs.

(Promotions are listed in alphabetical order.)

1. Choice offers shortcut to elite status

New members of the Choice Privileges program who enroll by September 30 can reach Gold status after staying five nights by the end of the year, rather than the 10 nights normally required.

Once earned, elite status remains in effect through December 31, 2009.

2. Exchange Diners points for more BA miles

Through September 30, Diners Club Rewards members may exchange their points for 50% more miles in British Airways’ Executive Club.

That’s a great way to accumulate some of the 50,000 miles you’ll need for a free trip from the U.S. to London or select cities in Europe.

3. Pile on the Priority Club points at German Holiday Inns

Through August 31, Priority Club Rewards members will earn 2,000 bonus points for Best Flexible rate stays of two or more nights at eight participating Express by Holiday Inns hotels in Germany.

4. More Southwest points for Avis rentals

Avis is the latest addition to Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program. To promote the partnership, Rapid Rewards members will earn triple credits and receive a discount of up to 25 percent on weekly rentals of five or more days picked up by August 15.

5. Earn triple US Airways miles for Hilton stays

Between July 15 and September 30, US Airways Dividend Miles members can earn triple miles for stays at participating Hilton family hotels.

To receive the triple miles, you must have US Airways selected as your HHonors preferred airline partner or present your US Airways Dividend Miles account number at check-in. Registration is required.
