New Hilton Bonus for December Stays

Hilton’s 4th-quarter promotion is double points for weekday stays (Monday through Thursday nights) and triple points on weekends (Friday through Sunday nights) at all 4,300-plus Hilton HHonors hotels, through December 31.

It’s one of the better Hilton offers of late. But at least for the month of December, it gets better still, with a newly announced extra bonus for end-of-the-year stays.

Offer Details

Between December 1 and December 31, Hilton HHonors members can earn 2,500 bonus points for every stay of two or more nights at any U.S. Hilton.

The December bonus may be combined with the current weekday/weekend bonus.

Registration is required.

Deal or No Deal

Depending on their earning preferences, HHonors members normally earn at least 10 base points per $1 spent at most Hilton brands. So a $100 night would net 1,000 base points, plus bonus points or airline miles, and a two-night stay would net 2,000 points.

Add to that the 2,500-point bonus for two-night December stays and the total increases to 4,500 points. That’s slightly more than double the points for cheaper stays, with a declining multiple as rates increase. Not bad, but not a game-changer for most.

Where the points really begin adding up is when the December bonus is combined with the ongoing weekday/weekend bonus. In our hypothetical two-night $200 stay, the weekday bonus would be 2,000 points, and the weekend bonus would be 4,000 points. So the total earnings—base points plus the two bonuses—would be 6,500 points for a two-night weekday stay, and 8,500 for a two-night weekend stay.

If you plan a two-night or longer stay at a U.S. hotel in December, these combinable promotions should earn Hilton a priority spot on your shopping list.
