Latest Hotel Offers Make Fall a Bonus Bonanza

Planning a fall trip that includes a hotel stay? Make it a lucrative one!

In a [% 2663847 | | recent column %], I highlighted no fewer than 10 major hotel promotions offering travelers bonus points and free nights for hotel stays through the end of the year.

Now, with the addition of two more hotel offers, travelers have an even dozen options when it comes to getting more value for their hotel dollars.

Starwood Promo Offers a Choice of Awards

With Starwood’s newly announced “You Choose” promotion, Preferred Guest members have their choice of awards for qualifying stays between October 1 and December 31. Options range from double points, to 2,000 bonus points for two stays, to 25,000 bonus points for 10 stays or 20 nights, and so on.

Registration is required, and must be completed by November 15. Note that registration is for one specific award option, and that the choice cannot be changed once made. It’s important, therefore, that program members realistically assess their expected hotel activity during the promotion period lest they fall short of the criteria for a desired award and earn no bonus whatsoever.

Double Points for Wyndham Stays

Through January 8, 2009, Wyndham Rewards members can earn double points or airline miles for stays at participating AmeriHost Inn, Baymont Inn & Suites, Days Inn, Hawthorn Suites, Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, Ramada, Super 8, Travelodge (U.S. hotels only), Wingate, and Wyndham hotels. There’s a limit of four offers per member during the promotion period.

Registration is required.

As we’ve suggested elsewhere, with so many bonuses on offer from so many hotels, in so many locations and at so many price points, there’s little reason to book a room in the next few months that doesn’t come bundled with a kickback in the form of extra points or the like. And if your hotel of choice isn’t yet on the promotion bandwagon, call the hotel directly and remind them that their competitor across the street is offering incentives to get your business. They may well respond by offering you a discount or an upgrade.
