Airpocket Review: A Less Gross, More Organized Version of the Seat-Back Pocket

We shudder to think of all the gross things that get stored in seat-back pockets alongside the in-flight magazines: used barf bags, dirty diapers (we’ve heard horror stories), tissues, etc. But, we also have plenty of stuff we like to keep within arms reach when we fly (hand sanitizer, an e-reader, headphones). The solution: The Airpocket, a neoprene, zippered organizer that holds everything you need, and slips into your seatback pocket.

Airpocket Review

Price and Where to Buy the Airpocket: The Airpocket is AUD $74.99 (approximately $58 according to Xe.com) on Airpocket’s website.

How the Airpocket Rates:

  • Usefulness: 9/10. The Airpocket keeps everything you need in-flight organized and clean. It has handles that let you attach the Airpocket to the handle of your suitcase, for hands-free carrying (as well as a detachable shoulder strap if you want to carry it like a bag). It’s also soft and sturdy enough to protect. your glasses and electronics from scratches
  • Value: 4/10. The Airpocket has a high price tag which is made even hire if you don’t live in Australia (shipping to the US will add approximately $20 on to your bill).
  • Durability: 10/10. Neoprene is easy to clean and very durable.
  • Cool Factor: 10/10. It’s definitely cooler to have all your in-flight essentials organized and readily accessible than getting up and down a million times to get stuff from the overhead in-flight.

Final Verdict: I love the concept and design of the Airpocket, but wish the price point was lower. If you travel a lot, it’s not that much more expensive than an iPad case, and is more versatile.
