In-Flight Wi-Fi Moving Forward on Delta

According to Delta’s blog, the airline has equipped 40 percent of its pre-merger aircraft with in-flight Wi-Fi. This comes after a promise to outfit its entire mainline domestic fleet with the service by the end of the year. However, the Middle Seat Terminal over at the Wall Street Journal reports Delta won’t complete installation on its 500 planes until late next year. American, which also has ambitious plans for Wi-Fi service, plans to have 150 planes finished by year’s end.

In its blog, Delta also says a monthly pricing plan is in the works, presumably aimed at frequent flyers, as well as separate pricing for laptops and mobile devices. American will have a similar tiered pricing plan.
