Airline Adds Allergy-Friendly Flights

If you have allergies, you may want to consider booking with Swiss Airlines the next time you fly—the carrier is turning their planes into allergy-friendly vessels, starting May 1. According to NBC News, Swiss International Airline has received the world’s first “allergy-friendly” airline certification from the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation.

The airline will accommodate allergy sufferers by removing all fresh flowers from the cabins, offering lactose- and gluten-free menu items, giving passengers synthetic pillow options if they’re allergic to down, and stocking the bathrooms with unscented soaps.

Concerned about passengers bringing animals on-board? As Sarah Klatt-Walsh, director of in-flight products and services for Swiss International Air Lines, told NBC News “pets are not a problem on board as we have a special air filter that pulls particles and animal hair downwards and out of the cabin.”
